JAFS

Modern Slavery & Ethical Trading Statement

1. Our Commitment

JAFS is fully committed to preventing modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and exploitation in all areas of our business and supply chains.

Modern slavery includes:

  • Human trafficking

  • Forced, bonded or compulsory labour

  • Slavery and servitude

  • Exploitation through mental or physical coercion

  • Dehumanisation or treatment of individuals as commodities

  • Restriction of freedom of movement

JAFS operates with integrity and transparency and complies fully with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We recognise that addressing modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility requiring continual review of our employment practices and supply chain relationships.

We do not knowingly engage with any organisation, in the UK or overseas, that supports or is found to be involved in slavery, servitude or forced labour.

2. Our Business and Supply Chain

JAFS is a UK-based company supplying furniture and related products and services.

Our supply chain includes manufacturers, raw material suppliers, logistics providers and service partners. While we consider our exposure to modern slavery risks to be low, we recognise that supply chains—particularly those involving overseas production—require appropriate scrutiny.

3. Our Approach

Due Diligence

JAFS takes proportionate steps to assess and manage risk, including:

  • Reviewing and mapping our supply chain

  • Working primarily with UK and low-risk suppliers where possible

  • Requesting confirmation of compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015

  • Including ethical compliance clauses within supplier agreements

  • Reserving the right to terminate relationships where breaches are identified

We are committed to ongoing supplier engagement and collaboration to promote ethical labour practices.

4. Employment Practices

JAFS maintains robust employment procedures in line with UK legislation. We ensure:

  • Right-to-work checks are completed

  • All employees receive written contracts

  • No person under 16 is employed

  • Fair pay practices aligned with market standards

  • Safe and supportive working conditions

  • Respect, dignity and equal treatment for all employees

Labour used in the delivery of JAFS services is not obtained through slavery or human trafficking.
