Contract Quality

Mattresses and Beds for commercial use should comply with the British standard BS7177 2008 Medium Hazard (source/crib 5). This is an assurance that your beds will not present a fire hazard. At JAFS, we use materials with the correct certification to meet BS7177. We combine our quality materials with in-house and external testing of each model.

At JAFS, we have carefully designed a range of beds to cover most accommodation needs. We strive to ensure that our range reflects the sectors within the contract market to provide style, choice and superb comfort for the hospitality industry, along with practical and comfortable solutions for the educational and care sectors.

To comply with current legislation, we ensure:-

All contract mattresses and divans are specified to have fire retardant treated fabric.
All contract mattresses contain upholstery with fire retardant properties.
Each contract mattress and divan is tested during new product development and in general production to ensure that the composite mattress is fully compliant with BS7177 2008 Medium Hazard. Mattresses and divans are strictly scheduled for regular re-testing.
Our Bunk beds are certified to EN747 (European Entrapment Hazard).
Whilst our tests include Crib 5 level testing, we can perform Crib 7 tests for contract beds that need deploying in prisons or offshore installations.
All our products are designed and manufactured to meet the specific and exacting demands of residential and student accommodation.

Bespoke Furniture

All the products on this website are standard designs and have been developed to provide solutions for most accommodation requirements. However, we understand that every project is unique, so we can manufacture specific beds, mattresses, and furniture that fit your needs.

Project Management

JAFS offers a national service for the delivery of all our products. For larger projects to include new buildings or refurbishments, we will oversee the entire project through to completion by a member of our experienced project managing team. JAFS has been involved with some of the largest public sector establishments and working with some significant property developers in the industry.
